percent from 12 percent in 1990.
It is that debt-service ratio that the Bank of Canada is
focusing on most closely. Kennedy said that even if the bank's
key overnight lending rate were to rise to between 4 and 6
percent from the current 2-1/2 percent, the ratio would only
rise to 9 to 11 percent, which is below previous peaks.

Write down how much to spend in each category, and don"t forget savings and non-monthly expenses such as holiday gifts or property taxes. If you have an unexpected expense, use unspent money from a category like entertainment or eating out. Scrimp on everything you can to avoid using a credit card and racking up debt.

Both these reasons warrant against the use of the personal savings in the house for a sound financial health. Residential mortgages thus come out as the most viable solution for the salaried people.
Paying a large amount at once is difficult for the salaried people, but the sum broken into a number of parts will be easier for them to pay out of their monthly salary or wages.
