The scope of "permissible purposes" and "legitimate business needs" is growing. Absent further legislation to more specifically restrict the uses of your credit report, anyone who can legally make a case for needing to can size up your borrowing ways.

Heh, look at what I found...
But remember that your card's credit limits are not an indication of what you can afford to spend. Fewer cards with lower balances is your path to enlightenment , grasshopper.
If you decide to streamline, carefully consider which cards should go on the chopping block.
